Becker had been sentenced to 30 months behind bars in April after being found guilty of hiding $3.1 million of assets and loans to avoid paying debts, The Associated Press reported.

He was convicted of four charges under the country’s Insolvency Act and was acquitted of 20 other charges he had faced, BBC Sport reported.

The German tennis legend served eight months before being freed and now faces deportation, the British news agency Press Association reported.

A Home Office spokesperson told BBC Sport, “Any foreign national who is convicted of a crime and given a prison sentence is considered for deportation at the earliest opportunity.”

The 55-year-old, three-time Wimbledon champion has lived in Britain since 2012.

He retired from playing tennis in 1999 and had been a Wimbledon pundit on BBC and coached Novak Djokovic for three seasons, BBC Sport reported.
