LONDON — Few toddlers receive a royal shoutout on their first birthday, but it helps when you’re named for a monarch currently celebrating seven decades on the British throne.
Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, turned 1 Saturday, eliciting celebratory wishes via social media from her grandparents, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as from her aunt and uncle, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, BBC reported.
The official Buckingham Palace account, representing Queen Elizabeth II, also shared well-wishes for the monarch’s great-granddaughter and namesake.
“Wishing Lilibet a very Happy 1st Birthday,” Buckingham Palace’s account tweeted, sentiments echoed by Lili’s grandparents Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, as well as Prince William and Duchess Kate.
