The Rockettes continue virtual dance classes, teach holiday moves to fans

A Christmas tradition for some is seeing The Radio City Music Hall Rockettes dance to holiday classics. But like many shows, the stage is dark and performers are at home instead of bringing joy to audience members multiple times a week.

You could stream a past performance of The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, or you can decide to get off the couch and try your hand at their iconic dances.

The Rockettes have broken down their moves, teaching them in a series of virtual classes on Instagram, Shape magazine reported.

“With everything going on in the world right now, it became apparent that we needed to throw a little holiday spirit into the social media world,” Rockette Dannelle Morgan told Shape. “It’s been so rewarding that, despite not having the Christmas show this year, we’ve been able to bring some holiday cheer and joy to our fans.”

The dancers are also holding an Instagram Live session every Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET through Dec. 23. The dancing is about 50 minutes long and has a Q&A session, Shape reported.

This isn’t the first time the Rockettes have opened their living rooms to their fans on a virtual platform. In April, the dance troupe offered virtual dance and fitness classes.
