Recall alert: Yamaha recalls certain Viking Off-Road Side-by-Side for crash risk

Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corp. of America issued a recall after discovering that improperly installed rear brake lines can leak, leading to a crash or injury.

The recall on specific models of their 2022 Viking Off-Road Side-by-Side three-passenger vehicles.

The affected vehicles have the following model numbers:

  • YXM70VPANG/PHNH
  • YXM70VPRNC (Viking Ranch Edition)

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, they were sold in Copper Metallic, Hunter Green and Tactical Green colors.

Look at the top of the air box to find your model number. The vehicle identification number (VIN) can be found on the frame behind the left wheel.

If you own a vehicle in the recall, the CPSC recommends that you stop using the vehicle immediately and contact Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A. for a free inspection and repair.

There have been at least four reports of incidents involving the brake pipe making contact with the drive shaft causing brake fluid to leak.

No injuries have been reported, the CPSC said.
