According to NBC News and CNN, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said Sunday that authorities are offering $20,000 in reward money for information leading to a suspect’s arrest in the deadly shooting, which occurred late Saturday in the city’s entertainment district.

“It’s important that we bring justice to the victims, their families and our community,” Outlaw said, according to NBC News.

Authorities believe five guns were fired beginning shortly after 11:30 p.m. Saturday as crowds gathered on South Street, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Officers patrolling the area said they heard multiple gunshots and saw several people firing into the crowd, WCAU-TV reported.

One responding officer “fired several times in the direction of” an “unknown male” who was firing a gun, Outlaw said in a news conference Sunday afternoon. Investigators believe the officer’s shot struck the gunman, who dropped his weapon and fled, Outlaw said.

Ultimately, police said three people were killed in the shooting: Kristopher Minners, 22; Alexis Quinn, 27; and Gregory “Japan” Jackson, 34, according to the Inquirer. The wounded victims ranged in age from 17 to 69 and were in stable to critical condition, Outlaw said.

Outlaw said Jackson had been “involved in a physical altercation with another male, that potentially was the genesis of the shooting,” CBS News reported.

“These individuals eventually began firing at one another, with both being struck, one fatally,” Outlaw said.

Investigators recovered two handguns from the scene, authorities said.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident, police said.
