OKLAHOMA CITY — A zoo in Oklahoma recently welcomed a baby rhino and is seeking the public’s help to name the newborn.
According to KOCO-TV, the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden took to Facebook on Monday to ask followers to choose from three possible names for the new female calf, who was born Oct. 23 to Indian rhino Niki. They include the following: Narayani, Sanskrit for “goddess of wealth and power”; Oni, which means “wanted” or “desired” and has a Hindu origin; and Yabi, short for the rhino protection group Yayasan Badak.
Facebook fans can leave a comment with their selection through Thursday, the zoo said, adding that it will announce the winner Friday.
