MIAMI, Fla. — A world cruise not slated to sail until 2024 sold out in less than three hours despite fares starting at $73,499 per person.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises opened sales for its 2024 World Cruise at around 8:30 a.m. ET Wednesday and booked all vacancies by 11 a.m., the company said in a statement.
The five-month luxury cruise aboard the Seven Seas Mariner is slated to depart Miami on Jan. 26, 2024, spanning 34,500 nautical miles and 31 countries, including destinations in Central America, the U.S. West Coast, Hawaii, South Pacific Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, the Mediterranean and Bermuda, USA Today reported.
According to the company, fares for the global tour that offers 442 shore excursions were as high as $199,999 per guest for a master suite. Regent Seven Seas Cruises is a subsidiary of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises President and CEO Jason Montague said the company has seen a “strong increase” in first-time travelers.
“With a waitlist longer than we have ever experienced, we knew that the 2024 World Cruise was going to be popular, but this outstanding response has surpassed all expectations,” Montague stated.
“For our guests, the 2024 World Cruise represents so much more than just a cruise vacation - it’s a return to a normality,” Montague added.
