After 21 years, Lindsey Buckingham and his wife are going their own way.
The former Fleetwood Mac singer and guitarist and Kristen Messner are calling it quits, Entertainment Tonight reported.
Messner, 51, filed for divorce from Buckingham, 71, on June 2 in Los Angeles County, according to People. The move comes on the eve of Buckingham’s upcoming EP and North American tour, the magazine reported.
The couple met during the late 1990s when Messner, a photographer, did a photo shoot for one of Buckingham’s solo album covers, People reported.
The couple married in 2000. Buckingham and Messner share three children, according to Entertainment Tonight: William Buckingham, 22; Leelee Buckingham, 21; and Stella Buckingham, 17.
On Tuesday, Buckingham shared the news of his upcoming release, which is due Sept. 17, in an Instagram post. The self-titled EP is his first solo project since 2011′s “Seeds We Sow” and will include his latest single, “I Don’t Mind.”
Buckingham’s solo tour is set to begin Sept. 1, People reported.
