Jeremy Renner: Actor reveals he broke more than 30 bones in snowcat accident

Jeremy Renner posted an update about his medical condition on social media, stating on Saturday that he broke “30-plus” bones during a snowcat accident near his Nevada home on Jan. 1.

Renner, 52, who plays archer Hawkeye in “The Avengers” movies, posted a photo on Instagram that showed the actor undergoing physical therapy, Variety reported.

“These 30 plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens,” Renner wrote. “Love and blessings to you all.”

The “Mayor of Kingstown” star added that he wanted “to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I,” People reported.

“Much love and appreciation to you all,” Renner wrote on Instagram.

Renner had “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” when he was run over by the snowcat while he was clearing a driveway near his Nevada home, according to CNN.

At a Jan. 3 news conference, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said that Renner had been run over after he attempted to get back onto the engine-powered vehicle when it began to roll away, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Renner’s snowcat was a PistenBully, a piece of snow removal equipment that weighs at least 14,330 pounds, Variety reported.

A 911 log noted that Renner was “completely crushed by a large snowcat,” CNN reported. According to the call logs, the right side of the actor’s chest was collapsed and his upper torso was crushed.”

Renner underwent two surgeries and was treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital, according to the cable news network.
