After a two-day trial in October 2021, Paschel, 44, of Knoxville, was found guilty of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault and interference with emergency calls, WBIR-TV reported.

Prosecutors said deputies with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to calls about a domestic disturbance on June 9, 2019, in West Knoxville, according to WBIR.

The victim accused Paschel of grabbing her by the neck and slamming her head against the wall several times, the television station reported. She also claimed that she was thrown to the ground.

In a statement, Knox County Charme Allen said that “With the sentence in this case, no other victims will be abused by this offender for a long time.”

In a statement, Paschel’s attorney, Greg Isaacs, told E! News, “Geoffrey Paschel continues to maintain his innocence and intends to file a motion for a new trial in the very near future. Afterward, our firm intends to pursue an appeal on Geoffrey Paschel’s behalf.”

Paschel appeared on Season 4 of “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days,” which aired in 2020, according to Us magazine. He got engaged to Varya Malina on the show, but was not asked to attend the tell-all taping because of his legal issues, the magazine reported.
