Dr. Dre recovering at home after brain aneurysm

Rapper-record producer Dr. Dre is home and recovering after reportedly suffering a brain aneurysm earlier this month.

The music mogul, 55, whose real name is Andre Romelle Young, had been admitted to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The rapper’s attorney, Peter Paterno, confirmed that Dr. Dre had left the hospital, Variety reported. On Friday, rapper-actor Ice-T tweeted that Dre had been released from the hospital.

“Update: Just FaceTimed with @DrDre,” Ice-T tweeted. “He just made it home. Safe and looking good.”

As a musician, Dr. Dre has won seven Grammy Awards, including best R&B album honors in 2019 for “Ventura.” In 2009 he won a pair of Grammys: Best rap album for “Relapse,” and best rap performance by a duo or group for “Crack A Bottle.”

In 2000, Dr. Dre won best rap performance by a duo of group for “Forgot About One,” and best rap album for “The Marshall Mathers LP.” He also took producer of the year honors in the nonclassical category.

He also won best rap solo performance in 1993 for “Let Me Ride.”

Dr. Dre has had 26 Grammy nominations during his career.

Dr. Dre’s other hits include “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang” and “Forgot About Dre,” Variety reported.

As a producer, Dr. Dre has worked with Gwen Stefani, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent, the website reported.
