A new Cadbury “Bunny” has been named for 2023.
Meet Crash the cat, the winner of the 5th annual bunny tryouts.
He beat out a miniature horse from Andover, Massachusetts, a dog from Temple, Pennsylvania, and a bunny from Pepper Pike, Ohio, in this year’s competition.
Crash the Cat hails from Bosie, Idaho, according to a news release from Cadbury.
Eight-year-old Crash had a rough life. He was rescued from a car accident that left him with only one eye. He became the resident shelter cat at his local animal shelter where he went to heal from his injuries, becoming the center of attention and quickly claiming the love of anyone who met him.
He even learned a trick, giving high fives.
Crash was selected as part of the “Rescue Pets Edition” of the Cadbury Bunny Tryouts and joined the previous winners, Henri the English Bulldog, Lieutenant Dan the Treeing Walker Coonhound, Betty the frog and Annie Rose the therapy dog.
In addition to his new bunny ears, Crash receives $5,000 for himself and $5,000 for a shelter. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will also get a $20,000 donation.
Crash’s commercial will start airing on March 25.
