According to BET, Beyoncé's BeyGOOD charity will award $5,000 grants to families in danger of losing their homes amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“The housing moratorium is set to end on December 26th, resulting in mortgage foreclosures and rental evictions,” the organization wrote in a news release Tuesday. “Many families are impacted, due to the pandemic that resulted in job loss, sickness and overall economy downturn. This holiday season, while many are stressed with what they will do next regarding their housing, we are proud to share some GOOD news. Beyoncé is giving $5k grants to individuals and families facing foreclosures or evictions.”

Starting Jan. 7, people will be able to apply for the grants at NAACP.org. The organization then will select 100 applicants to receive the grants, which will be disbursed later that month, according to the release. A second round will begin in February, the organization added.

Earlier this year, BeyGOOD and the NAACP also launched a Black-Owned Small Business Impact Fund, which has given $10,000 grants to more than 250 businesses, according to the release.
