Actress Toni Collette and her husband are divorcing after 20 years of marriage.
Collette, 50, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her supporting actress role in 1999′s “The Sixth Sense,” announced the split jointly in an Instagram post on Wednesday with her husband, Dave Galafassi, 44, People reported.
“After a substantial period of separation, it is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing,” the couple wrote. “We’re united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other.
“Our kids are of paramount importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit a different shape.”
Collette attached a photograph of a floral arrangement that read, “PEACE & LOVE.”
The couple shares a 14-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son, CNN reported.
The Australian native and the drummer wed in January 2003, according to Us Magazine.
Representatives for Collette did not immediately respond to People’s request for comment. A representative for Galfassi, who appeared as a club drummer in the 2013 film “Lucky Them” that starred Collette, could not immediately be reached, according to the magazine.
