RIDGECREST, Calif. — A magnitude 5.5 earthquake in the desert city of Ridgecrest rattled homes hundreds of miles away in Los Angeles Wednesday evening according to the USGS.

The temblor was located 10 miles south of Searles Valley.
Seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones described the quake is considered an aftershock following the 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes.

The earthquake was felt as far away as San Diego.
