Jacksonville FL — Tuesday, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry announced the work from home order in place for the city will be suspended starting this upcoming Monday. He says even though the mandate is being lifted, he hopes employers and employees can work together so those with children and vulnerable populations can continue to work remotely.
“Effective Monday, we will be under no executive orders in Duval County issued by us, they’ll all be suspended.” Curry says.
He says even through the local orders will be gone, we’re still gonna be under statewide executive orders.
WOKV reported back in late March when Curry put the order in place which mandated that employers should allow employees to work from home if they can.
For city employees, Curry says the senior leadership team and him are putting together a plan and they expect to reach out to employees over the next few days to bring them back starting Monday.
Curry says he wants the city to move into the next phase of reopening by next week, but that decision depends on when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis decides to move into the next phase.
