You are seeing the progress as you make your way through Mandarin along the West Beltway, but work on the tolled express lanes from I-95 to the Buckman Bridge is not expected to be complete now until late fall 2018 at the earliest the Florida Department of Transportation says. The last time WOKV checked in on the timeline for completion FDOT said the project should be done in the Summer of 2018. A spokesperson for FDOT says there is no specific reason for the delay, but FDOT does say all project deadlines are weather permitting.
Once complete, FDOT says there will be tolled express lanes from the Buckman Bridge to I-95 and the price of the toll will vary depending on how much traffic is in the lanes. FDOT says construction crews still need to put up road signs, test out the new toll system, and put up dividers separating the tolled lanes from the regular lanes before they can open the lanes for public use.
As far as the East Beltway express tolled lanes, FDOT says construction from State Road 9-B to JTB is still scheduled to be done by the Spring of 2019.
