Woman pleads guilty to 2015 DUI crash that killed 24-year-old man in Jax Beach

Jacksonville, FL — More than 2 years after a 24-year-old man was hit and killed while walking in Jacksonville Beach, the woman arrested in his death, has now pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department says Deborah Brewer has been given a 10-year prison sentence, followed by three years of probation.

We're told her driver's license will be permanently revoked. Brewer will also be required to perform 300 hours of community service and attend a victim impact panel.

At the time of her arrest, police say Brewer had a 0.165 blood alcohol content.

The August 9, 2015, crash killed Michael Gunderson, who was visiting from Wisconsin. Friends say he had never seen the ocean before the trip and was planning to head home the following day
