Woman dies in crash on Hart Bridge

Jacksonville — This morning one woman is dead and a man is in the hospital after a fatal crash on the Hart Bridge. It’s the second the fatal crash on the bridge in just three days.

According to the report from Florida Highway Patrol, a woman driving a Jeep Wrangler drove onto the bridge traveling Northbound in a Southbound lane.

Troopers say she collided head on with a Nissan Xterra.

The female driver of the Jeep Wrangler died at the scene of the crash, according to the FHP report.

The man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

It’s not clear if alcohol played a role in the crash.
