Woman charged with DUI following weekend crash in Atlantic Beach

Jacksonville, FL — A St. Johns County woman has been charged with DUI after a crash in which several parked cars were struck late Saturday night on Atlantic Boulevard near Poe’s Tavern.

Witnesses said the driver hit several parked cars just before 11pm, but no one was hurt.

60-year-old Linda Barloon was arrested by Neptune Beach Police and, according to incident report, claimed to have been at a family reception in downtown Jacksonville and was headed to her home in St. Johns County at the time of the crash.

When police arrived the suspect’s car was resting against three legally parked vehicles.  All of the vehicles had noticeable damage.

The incident report says the driver had no recollection of how the crash occurred and was confused as to her current location.

A passenger in Barloon’s car told police that they had been at a brewery where they both had consumed alcoholic beverages before the crash.  Neither was hurt.
