A Jacksonville high school student is arrested and could be expelled after police say a bomb threat was posted on social media.
That Ed White High School student - yet to be identified at this time by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and Duval County School Police - was taken into custody last night.
School Principal Jason Bloom says it's safe for students to come to the campus.
"Around midnight [Tuesday], we received notification about a bomb threat that was posted on social media," Bloom stated in an automated call made to parents this morning. "We notified JSO."
Duval County School Police say 14-year-old Michael Mills Jr has been charged with a felony count of making a false report about planting a bomb.
Mills’ arrest report says he posted on Facebook that he planted a bomb in the Ed White High gym and it was going to detonate at 12:37. The post further told students to let their parents know and put his phone number on the post if people wanted to get more information.
JSO responded to search the school and found no device.
