USS Samuel B Roberts returns from final deployment

The USS Samuel B Roberts is back from her final deployment.

More than 200 Saliors have been serving in the US 6th Fleet Area of Responsibility to support Maritime Security Operations and Theater Security Operations. Highlights of the deployment include 1113 hours of flight hours without error.

The Navy is decommissioning all of the Oliver Hazard Perry class guided missile frigates. This is one of the final frigates at Mayport and will be decommissioned in the middle of next year. The ship was commissioned in 1984.

WOKV toured the USS Samuel B Roberts and spoke with the Commanding Officer ahead of this final deployment. It's the third ship to have the name, honoring the brave actions of a Navy coxswain from World War II.
