Original Story:

Jacksonville Police are working to identify two bodies found on the Southside this afternoon.

Homicide Sergeant Shawn Coarsey says the two hotel guests were scheduled to check out of the Hampton Inn and Suites at 4415 Southside Blvd today.  Hotel staff went to check the room and found it latched from the inside.  When they eventually opened the door shortly before 1pm they found two bodies, apparently shot, and left to call police.

Coarsey says, at this time, police believe this is a murder/suicide.

“With the door being latched from the inside, there’s no way you can leave the room without unlatching it,” he says.

He says they found notes around the room, many in envelopes addressed to certain people, however they had not yet read the content of the letters.

Police have not yet positively identified the bodies, but Coarsey says it was one Asian female and one white male.  They both suffered gun shots and died very early this morning by his estimations.
