UNF’s Coggin College of Business to open satellite campus in Barnett Building

Jacksonville, FL — The University of North Florida’s Coggin College of Business will open a satellite campus at the Barnett National Bank Building in Downtown Jacksonville.

The Barnett Building is part of a more than $90 million redevelopment plan, which also includes the Laura Street Trio- the Bisbee Building, Florida Life Building, and Marble Bank Building, collectively. The Barnett Building redevelopment is the first phase of the project. When everything is done, the developers plan for a new signature hotel, restaurant and rooftop bar options, retail, office and residential space, and more.

The City of Jacksonville has committed nearly $10 million in financial incentives for the total project. More recently, they signed on to some incentives for UNF to move in to the Barnett Building.

SouthEast Development Group, LLC and The Molasky Group of Companies- which are partnering in the overall redevelopment- say UNF’s lease is for the fourth and fifth floors of the building, about 16,000 square feet in all. There will be classrooms and support facilities for up to 200 business students. We’re told there will also be a new “Entrepreneurial Center”, which is focused on developing and supporting new businesses.
