UNF's Board of Trustees selects Dr. David Szymanski to succeed John Delaney as president

Jacksonville, FL — It marks the end of an era.

The University of North Florida's Board of Trustees has selected Dr. David Szymanski to become the university's sixth president and succeed John Delaney, who retires May 31st.

Szymanski is currently the dean of the Carl H. Lindner College of Business and professor of marketing at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining UC, he was the director of the Center for Retailing Studies at Texas A&M University. He's also served on a number of corporate and professional boards, including NCAA boards, and currently sits on the board of directors of Office Depot.

He earned his doctorate and MBA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

This selection ends what UNF calls an 'extensive' national search, which began last spring, and included numerous listening sessions, public comment, surveys, and more.
