A man is dead after being hit by a car Thursday morning while riding a bike in North Jacksonville. Police were called to Pecan Park Road at about 6:37 a.m. after he was hit riding on the eastbound side of the roadway near Main Street before being hit by a driver who reportedly didn’t see him, police said. The bike did have a front-facing headlight and police also believe it had a rear-facing light. The vehicle involved is cooperating with police.
