Hastings, Fla. — UPDATE 1 p.m. - Deputies say the victim is a teenage boy who was hit while walking to the bus stop around 6 a.m. Friday morning. He was later found by a passerby on Palatka Blvd. near Carpenter Ave. around 6:45 a.m. before being airlifted in critical condition to a nearby trauma center. Neighbors in the area are asked to review any surveillance video from 5:45 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for potential evidence. UPDATE 9 a.m. - Deputies say the victim is a teenage boy who was walking to the bus stop. Deputies are looking for a vehicle with front-end damage.
UPDATE 8:45 a.m. - The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office confirms this is a hit-and-run crash. Deputies are asking neighbors in the area to check to see if their exterior video cameras captured the incident. St. Johns County Fire Rescue told us the victim was airlifted in critical condition.

According to a social media post by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, a teenager was hit by a vehicle at Palatka Boulevard.
Deputies are asking drivers to avoid the area.
