Tim Deegan sentenced to probation in DUI case

First Coast News Chief Meteorologist Tim Deegan was arrested Saturday night for driving under the influence.

Tim Deegan has been sentenced to 12 months probation in a plea agreement over a DUI charge.

First Coast News reports its chief meteorologist will have his license suspended for six months.

The 54-year-old long-time Jacksonville meteorologist had first pleaded not guilty to DUI and running a stop sign but later changed his plea to no contest.

First Coast News reports Deegan must also pay court costs and fines of $1,031 and attend DUI school.  It is not clear when Deegan will be back on TV.

Deegan was arrested in Jacksonville Beach in early November.
