JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three people are in custody after a deadly shooting overnight in Grand Park. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Division Street around 2 a.m. on Monday.

A large crowd of neighbors gathered near a local food store after learning that someone in their community had been fatally shot.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene after shots were fired at the residence. Officers found a man in his 30s, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Jacksonville Fire Rescue.

Sgt. Lloyd of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed “an adult male in his 30s was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department.”

At this time, the identity of the victim has not been released, and authorities have not disclosed what led to the shooting. Investigators blocked off the area for several hours to collect evidence.

Neighbors were visibly shaken, and cries could be heard echoing through the neighborhood as the investigation unfolded.

While many neighbors did not want to speak on camera, their grief was apparent.

Police confirmed that three people are currently in custody: two are witnesses, and one is potentially the suspect.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office or CrimeStoppers.
