JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two wrecks on Jacksonville roadways Sunday resulted in the deaths of three motorcyclists. The first crash occurred at about 1 p.m. at Interstate 295 at Old St. Augustine Road.

Two motorcyclists were riding southbound on I 295 in the center lane. The riders struck each other in a “sideswipe type collision” causing both riders to loose control, a Florida Highway Patrol news release states.
Both riders “were separated from their motorcycles” and landed in the outside and inside shoulders, the news release states. One of the riders, a 41-year-old Jacksonville man, was taken to the hospital where he died. The other, a 32-year-old Jacksonville man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second crash occurred just before 2 p.m. in the 4200 block of Roosevelt Boulevard.
A motorcyclist was riding north on Roosevelt when a black VW Jetta pulled out from a side street into the path of the motorcycle, a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office news release states.
The motorcycle crashed into the driver’s side of the Jetta. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department rushed the motorcyclist to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The names of the victims in both crashes were not released.
