Jacksonville, FL — The Clay County Sheriff's Office says three of its deputies have been terminated following an administrative investigation.
The sheriff's office says the criminal investigation ended with no charges being filed. However, an administrative investigation was then launched to determine if agency policies were being violated. We're told as a result of the administrative investigation, three deputies were terminated.
In response to the terminations, Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels has released the following statement:
The Clay County Sheriff's Office has a duty to provide humane treatment of inmates who are housed in the jail. To that end, our Department of Detention employees are expected to carry out the mission of the Sheriff's Office in a professional manner that is reflective of the expectations of our citizens.
WOKV is working to learn more about what policy or policies the three are accused of violating.
