‘There’s a lot of opportunity here’: Construction continues for Jax Beach Town Center

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — An anxiously-awaited project, right in the heart of Jacksonville Beach, is making progress toward opening doors.

Action News Jax received a walk-through of the site under construction on Monday morning for the Jax Beach Town Center.

You can expect ocean views, restaurants and a private space for your next event.

“I think it’s important for developers to come in and really improve Downtown Jax Beach,” said developer Marc Angelo. “There’s a lot of opportunity here. My hope is that there will be a renaissance of new projects and exciting things.”

Just a block from the Atlantic Ocean, construction is trekking along for the two-story facility.

Oaxaca Club is set to open in December.

Jekyll Brewing Company and the private event space are slated for March 2023.

Taylor Brown has lived in Jacksonville her entire life but moved to Jax Beach two years ago

“We live right here, so we do something around here all the time,” Brown said. “So I’m excited for something new right by our home.”

She said she walks by the construction every morning.

Marissa Mohs moved to Jax Beach six or seven years ago.

“It’s good to see restaurants, new places and new activities we’re able to do around here rather than hotels and stuff,” Mohs said. “I’m personally very excited for what’s to come.”

The Jax Beach Town Center is located at 127 and 131 1st Avenue North, where the Campeche Bay Cantina and Ruby Beach Brewing Company buildings previously were.
