‘That’s a lot' | Over 300 pounds of marijuana, edibles, pills, firearms seized in Jacksonville bust

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax has learned more about a large-scale drug bust the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office posted about on social media last week. JSO posted photos showing piles of marijuana, firearms, cash, and other drugs.

“303.5 pounds & 37.25 pounds of wax (That’s a lot!),” a portion of the post states. The post states the following were also seized:

  • Marijuana Edibles: 3.3 pounds
  • THC Oil: 12.4 pounds
  • MDMA: 7.2 grams
  • Unknown Pills: 309.5 grams
  • Cash: $11,530
  • Firearms: 13

We’ve learned that the bust took place Nov. 15 at a home in the 4100 block of Highwood Drive. SWAT served a search warrant at the property and arrested 40-year-old Jose Ruben Curet Villa. His charges include traffic in marijuana excess of 25 pound or 300 plants or more, possess paraphernalia for the manufacture or delivery of drugs, possess scheduled I, III, or IV hallucinogen with intent to sell/mfg/deliver.

Villa was released from jail after posting $60,000 bond.
