SUV hits an FPL utility pole causing the car to be in flames, FHP says

PALATKA, Fla. — An SUV was driving eastbound on Yelvington Road in Palatka when the driver lost control and exited the roadway hitting a utility pole.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the car began to rotate counter clockwise and stopped facing north landing on the grass. The car was fully engulfed in flames.

The passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car while the car overturned. The passenger is in critical injuries.

The driver had minor injuries.
