Jacksonville — The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in the hit-and-run deaths of two people who were riding their bicycles on Racetrack Road, Saturday. Henry Haigler III, 37 of Jacksonville, was identified as being the driver of a 2016 black Hyundai Azera believed to have left the scene of the accident. According to an arrest warrant, the car was located in Haigler’s garage after a search warrant was executed at his apartment on Roundleaf Drive off or Bartram Park Boulevard, a few miles from the accident scene.

According to the warrant affidavit, Haigler’s car had heavy front end and windshield damage and hair on the windshield when they located it. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on a felony charge of leaving the scene of a traffic crash that involved death.
The affidavit says several people witnessed the car near the scene, or driving away from it.
