JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax has learned the suspect in a deadly hit and run on Beach Boulevard has been deported three times dating back to 2009. It’s part of new information we’re learning about the suspect who troopers say ran over a 28-year-old motorcyclist last week, killing him.

28-year-old Lester Bagalihog, who went by “Nicco” was killed in the crash. He was riding alongside his friend Ryan, another motorcyclist, when the Florida Highway Patrol said the two were slowing down for a red light. As they did that, troopers say Edwin Rumaldo Almendares Amaya hit and ran over Nicco and drove away; he was found and arrested the next morning.

Action News Jax learned from Immigration and Customs Enforcement he’s been deported three times in the past, is from Honduras and the agency addressed him with a different name to us. He was deported in 2009, again in 2013 and the latest was in 2017.
