Survey: Teens likely getting bad driving habits from parents

Distracted Driving Graphic From Liberty Mutual Insurance and Students Against Destructive Driving

Many would consider this story the very definition of a first world problem.

New research from Liberty Mutual Insurance and Students Against Destructive Driving shows it might be best for everyone - especially teenagers - to put down the smartphone while driving.

70% of teens surveyed admitted to using smartphone apps while driving. Another 78% say they've texted while driving, while 90% have talked on the phone while driving

The research also shows teens are likely getting most - if not all - of their bad habits from parents, with the latter being more likely to drive without a seatbelt and drive under the influence.
