St. Johns County sheriff warning drivers about uncovered, unsecured loads

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning on social media Thursday cautioning drivers about enforcement the department is conducting.

The Facebook post states:

The SJSO Traffic Unit is conducting enforcement of vehicles with uncovered/unsecured loads this week. Per Florida law (316.520), a vehicle may not be driven on a highway unless its load is secure with a cover to prevent materials from moving, leaking, or blowing from the vehicle during travel. Violations could result in fines or criminal charges. Please secure your loads and drive safe.
