St. Johns County hosting annual New Year’s Trash Bash beach cleanup

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Johns County and St. Johns River State College are hosting the annual New Year’s Trash Bash beach cleanup again this year.

The event is happening Friday, January 24th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Officials say they need at least 50 volunteers to help clean up at any of the following eight locations:

  • Mickler’s Landing: CR 203, Ponte Vedra Beach
  • GTMNERR South Beach: 2200 South Ponte Vedra Blvd, Ponte Vedra Beach
  • Surfside Park: 3070 Coastal Hwy, St. Augustine 32084
  • Vilano Beach: Vilano Rd., St. Augustine
  • Anastasia State Park
  • The Pier at St. Augustine Beach
  • Crescent Beach: Cubbedge Rd., St. Augustine
  • Fort Matanzas Beach: Fort Matanzas Beach Ramp Rd., St. Augustine

Everyone is required to sign in at their chosen location.

Cleanup supplies will be provided. Officials recommend volunteers to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes and a reusable water bottle.
