City officials said the goals of the cameras are “to encourage a change in driver behavior and to increase driver awareness of the impacts of speed-related crashes in school and work zones.”

According to the city, there will be a warning period for drives. It’s expected to take place in late February. Citations will begin in early April.

“Photo enforced” signs will be posted under the speed limit signs on designated roads. This will alert drivers there are speed cameras in the area.
