Sources: DeSantis ally killed self amid JSO probe asking teen to undress for Taylor Swift tickets

Investigates: Power broker tempted teen with tickets

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. — Action News Jax Ben Becker has confirmed with multiple law enforcement sources that political powerbroker Kent Stermon, 50, killed himself in December amid a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) investigation into allegations he asked a teenager to undress while at his office in exchange for Taylor Swift concert tickets.

Becker’s sources cannot be more specific about the girl’s age due to the sensitive nature of the investigation.

Becker obtained more than 160 pages of documents from the Atlantic Beach Police Department that includes pictures of the gun Stermon used to shoot himself in the head, as well as, a suicide note to his loved ones that read “I love you both too much to put you through this. You are better off without me.”

The cache of documents include graphic pictures of Stermon slumped over the wheel of his Ram pick-up truck with a window blown out from the fatal bullet.

Stermon aided the rise of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. He was also a friend of Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry. Stermon was also issued a badge for access to JSO headquarters by former Sheriff Mike Williams and was a supporter of current Sheriff T.K. Waters.

The Daily Mail first reported the Taylor Swift concert connection but contrary to the Daily Mail report, Becker’s sources say there’s likely no other alleged victims. The final JSO investigative report is expected to be released in late April or early May.
