Yearbook photos are an annual tradition at every school, but this year, a St. Johns County K9 got in on the fun.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Kowieski is a Youth Resource Deputy, and with his partner K9 Patriot, he floats between St. Johns County schools, as needed. They were recently at Ponte Vedra High School on yearbook photo day, and were offered the chance to get in a shot.
SJSO says the Youth Resource Deputy who is assigned to PVHS also got his photo taken, ahead of his pending retirement. It is up to each school administration if they offer up the opportunity to deputies, and then up to the deputies if they want to take part.
PVHS confirms both photos will be in the school’s yearbook. The Digital Arts & Yearbook Teacher says they are excited to feature their “favorite” deputies and Patriot, because the students have great relationships with both deputies and love seeing the K9.
