SJSO: Juvenile detention employee arrested for stealing from facility

A St. Johns County  has been arrested for stealing from a juvenile detention facility we worked for and trying to resell several items to local pawn shops.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office says Jonathon Paul Hollar stole weed eaters, compressors, paint sprayers and a flat screen television from the juvenile detention facility operated by Sequel Youth & Family Services, and then attempted to sell the items to six area pawn shops.

Hollar has been charged with 10 counts of dealing in stolen property and ten counts of providing false verification of ownership to a pawn shop. He was working as a maintenance technician at the facility, and allegedly stole a number of items from secured rooms over the past two months.

The 28-year-old will have his first appearance in court on Friday morning.
