JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The community is showing full support for one local high school football team as players gear up for the state championship game in Miami.
There was a big send-off at Raines High School Friday morning with cheerleaders, the band and so many others attending.
“This is awesome,” said Vincent Hall, the principal of Raines High School. “Our team has prepared for this moment and the community has been behind us this entire season.”
The support from the community is something that Hall said helped them get to this moment.

“When we called for help to get us down to Miami, they answered,” said Hall.
Hall said Lil Duval, a Raines alum and Jacksonville comedian and actor, gave them a check to help get the band on a bus and to Miami.
“We appreciate Lil Duval, he even stopped by yesterday for our pep rally,” said Hall.
And parents said they are grateful for those who helped make this possible.
Dawn Cole’s son, Timothy, has played football all his life. He is the quarterback on the team.
“He is living for this moment right now,” said Cole. “This is something that he has talked about all year long ”
Cole is eager to watch her son play in this big game.
