Jacksonville, FL — Some areas saw multiple rounds of storms, lightning and gusty winds. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says we’ll have more late day storms covering about half the area today.
“Movement will still be of individual cells west to east at about 20 to 25 mph, so still moving along but a little bit slower, fewer cells but still locally producing some very heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning”, Buresh said.
Storms become more isolated tomorrow and through the weekend, and it turns much hotter.
Wednesday’s storms were quite impressive, with multiple shelf clouds forming throughout the area. Storms dropped a lot of rain in Mayport and Black Hammock Island, as well as Race Track Road in north St. Johns County.
