Mako will now go head-to-head against Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office’s K9 Cooper. Voting for the final round begins on Wednesday, Apr. 5.

“He (RIP) didn’t win the Florida Sheriffs Association K9 March Madness Contest but he gave it a good run and he wants to thank everyone in the community and beyond who supported him!,” NCSO said in their Facebook post.

And while RIP didn’t advance to the final round, NCSO does have some great news. They introduced the community to RIP’s sister and are looking for help naming the beautiful girl.

“Does she look like a RIVER or ROXIE?”, the social media post said.

NCSO will officially announce K9 RIPS' sister's name on Apr. 17.
