Report: Suspect in Arlington gas station robbery, shooting under arrest

Jacksonville, FL — Nearly a week after an armed robbery and shooting at a BP gas station in Arlington, police have reportedly made an arrest.

Action News Jax reports a man was arrested on Monday at an apartment complex approximately 600 feet from the gas station.

We told you last Wednesday about the armed robbery and shooting at the BP on the Arlington Expressway and Arlington Road.

The owner was shot after complying with the suspect’s demands for cash. The victim is still hospitalized but his family says he is making steady improvements.

On Sunday afternoon, Jacksonville Police announced that the suspect was observed getting into a 2014 white Hyundai Sonata and they believed someone else was driving the car.

According to Action News Jax, the Hyundai Sonata was found at an apartment complex on Monday, it had a missing front door handle.

“I just showed this girl the video last night about the white car, I just didn’t know it was that close to home”, said neighbor Coco Parker.

JSO told Action News Jax the suspect was identified Monday morning and tracked down to the apartment complex.  They say he went peacefully.

We are working to update this story with the charges the suspect is now facing.
