The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office says there was no emergency, after a brief scare at Pedro Menendez High School.

We’re told a teacher at the school was popping popcorn in a microwave today, and set off the fire alarm, leading the school to be evacuated. A student then posted on Snapchat, saying there was an active shooter situation. SJSO says there was no incident. Everything is secure, and deputies are speaking with the student who sent the social media message.

Again, SJSO reiterates there was no emergency at Pedro Menendez High School.
