Police report details kidnapping, sexual battery in Jacksonville Beach

Jacksonville, FL — More than a week since a violent attack in Jacksonville Beach we are getting a better idea of what led to sexual battery, robbery and kidnapping charges being filed against a 21-year-old man.

We reported on Monday when Jacksonville Beach Police announced the arrest of Ty'quon Jones.

According to an affidavit for arrest warrant, the victim was walking on Beach Boulevard near Second Street early on New Year’s Day when he passed a group of people and wished them a Happy New Year.

The affidavit quotes the victim as saying Ty’quon Jones told him to ‘run his pockets’. Thinking he was being robbed, the victim started to run off toward the Sneakers parking lot where he was beaten and then tortured for over an hour.

The victim told police that he was forced to perform a sexual act on the suspect multiple times.  One man who was in the group recorded the entire incident, and there were multiple videos of the victim being beaten and forced to perform a sexual act at different locations along 1st Street in Jacksonville Beach.

City cameras also captured portions of the assault and, at one point, the victim was forced to do jumping jacks, burpies and push-ups in the Pier parking lot.

Police arrested a second person, identified as 17-year-old Zantoria Willis. However court records have not been made public at this time.
