Police: Man suspected of impaired driving dies during police chase in Glynn County

Multiple people were injured and two people were killed in a shooting Friday at a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas.

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Brandon Higginbotham died during a police chase with the Glynn County Police Department early Saturday morning.

According to the GCPD, officers tried to conduct a traffic stop at 1:56 a.m. Higginbotham, the driver, was suspected of impaired driving.

The driver fled police. According to a news release, Higginbotham “was driving recklessly and lost control” of the car, before hitting a tree on Habersham Street.

The suspect died at the scene.

Police found methamphetamine and cocaine in the car.

The Georgia State Patrol and Glynn County Police Department are investigating.
